After announcing Shubman Gill as the Captain and Rishab Pant as the Vice Captain India’s chief selector Ajit Agarkar have shared statement regarding these two selection for the position of Captain and vice captains but there are few points need to analyze why Jasprit Bumrah,KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer which are also the contender and capable of Captain or Vice-captain but why not they or are they ignored.
There are few points what our team has done some research for selection of Shubman Gill as the Captain and Rishab Pant as the vice-captain
About Shubman Gill Captainship news we have already made a article on it lets discuss now why Rishab Pant yes before going to our views lets understand what Ajit Agarkar said he said Rishab is consistent in Test cricket over the last four or five years around 40 Tests, I believe He’s always had a great view of the game from behind the stumps as a wicketkeeper, and that experience is invaluable. That’s why he is Shubman’s deputy right now he can support him with all the experience which he will bring. He’s an incredible player he also said ahead that we’re looking at players who can take the team forward in the coming years,” said Agarkar.

Other than Rishab Pant players who are eligible as VC or even Captain?
So there are many senior players in the team but we have made list of most demanding like KL Rahul,Jasprit Bumrah and Shreyas Iyer these are the players which are ignored as vice captain or there is some other reason lets have some fair look on this
KL Rahul – Is experience but also have to consider the fact that KL Rahul is returning from injuries and inconsistent form as per the Selectors they want to reduce leadership pressure on him and concentrate on his form and performance.
Shreyas Iyer – Making Shreyas Iyer as captain or vice-captain is far away he has not been selected in the Test team Squad also on this Ajit Agarkar maintain the silence and said we will think on this about selecting Shreyas in future. Also need to note that Shreyas has been consistently performing in all formats of the game and it is clearly notices that Shreyas has been completely ignored and BCCI has to think of it.
Jasprit Bumrah – Has previously led India in Tests and has been considered for leadership roles. However, his history of injuries, particularly a recent back spasm, has raised questions about his ability to consistently fulfill the demands of captaincy . The additional responsibilities associated with leadership could potentially exacerbate his injury risk.
As a result, the selectors have appointed Shubman Gill as the new Test captain, with Rishabh Pant named as vice-captain. This move reflects a strategic shift towards grooming younger players for leadership roles, ensuring a smooth transition and maintaining team stability.
