KL Rahul whos complete name is Kannaur Lokesh Rahul , but he is known as KL Rahul,and is the prominent Indian cricketer he is wicketkeeper Batsman and has played across all formats of the game KL Rahul has Born on April 18, 1992, in Bangalore, Karnataka.


 Early Life & Education

KL Rahul father name is K. N. Lokesh, who was a  professor and a former director at the National Institute of Technology Karnataka (NITK) in Mangalore, and KL Rahul Mother is Rajeshwari who was a professor at Mangalore University. We will also tell you some interesting facts about his father,KL Rahul’s Father he was a great great fan of Legend cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.

KL Rahul grew up in Mangalore, attending NITK English Medium School and later St. Aloysius College. He began his cricketing career at the age of 10 and played for Bangalore United Cricket Club and his local club in Mangalore. At 18, he shifted to Bangalore to study at Jain University and further pursue his cricketing career


Domestic Career

KL Rahul made his first-class debut  in Karnataka team in the year 2010–11.He represented India in the 2010 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup, he scored 143 runs in the tournament in the year 2013–14 domestic season, he scored 1,033 first-class runs and  becoming the second-highest scorer for the season.

His best performance came in the year 2014–15 Duleep Trophy final, where he scored superb 185 runs knock and 130 in the two innings he also got the Player of the Match award for this knock. He became Karnataka’s first triple-centurion in first-class cricket where he scored 337 against Uttar Pradesh team.


International Career

Test Cricket

KL Rahul made his Test debut against Australia in December 26, 2014, in the big cricket stadium in Australia which is MCG which is know as Melbourne Cricket Ground. In his just second Test match, he scored his maiden Test century.

One Day Internationals (ODIs)

KL Rahul has done hi debut  in ODIs in June 11, 2016, against Zimbabwe, scoring an unbeaten 100, and he becomes first Indian to score a century in ODI debut. In ODIs, he has played 85 matches, scoring 3,043 runs at an average of 49.08, with 7 centuries  in his kitty and 18 half-centuries, with the top score of 112

Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is)

He made his T20I debut on June 18, 2016, also against Zimbabwe. In T20Is, KL Rahul has played 72 matches, scoring 2,265 runs at an average of 37.75, including 2 centuries and 22 half-centuries, with a highest score of *110 .


🏆 Indian Premier League (IPL) Journey for KL Rahul

  • 2013: Debuted with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
  • 2014–2015: Played for Sunrisers Hyderabad.
  • 2016: Returned to RCB, scoring 397 runs in 14 matches.
  • 2018–2021: Joined Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) for ₹11 crore. In 2018, he scored the fastest fifty in IPL history (14 balls). He was appointed captain in 2020, winning the Orange Cap that season with 670 runs .
  • 2022–2024: Led Lucknow Super Giants as captain. In 2022, he scored two centuries against Mumbai Indians.He was the team’s highest scorer with 616 runs that season. In 2024, he scored 520 runs but was released ahead of the 2025 auction.
  • 2025: Acquired by Delhi Capitals for ₹14 crore .​

👨‍👩‍👧 Personal Life

On January 23, 2023, Rahul married actress Athiya Shetty, daughter of actor Suniel Shetty, after dating for over three years. The couple welcomed their daughter, Evaarah, on March 24, 2025
