Seven Iconic Venues Announced for 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup in England

In addition to the legendary Lord’s, six more historic cricket grounds will set the stage for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in 2026. Old Trafford, Headingley, Edgbaston, The Oval, Hampshire Bowl, and the Bristol County Ground have all been named among the venues for the tournament. England will welcome 12 of the world’s top women’s teams from June 12 to July 5, with the final showdown scheduled at Lord’s — a venue long synonymous with cricketing glory.

This competition will feature 30 group-stage matches, divided into two pools of six teams each, promising nearly a month of high-octane action and thrilling encounters.

Current Chairmen of ICC Chair Jay Shah has expressed the confidence for the venue England and Wales to deliver a world-class event. He praised England’s deep cricketing heritage and its ability to draw passionate crowds, pointing to the 2017 Women’s World Cup final at Lord’s as a landmark moment for the women’s game.

The tournament will be a celebration of cricketing excellence and global sportsmanship,” Shah remarked. “The UK has always embraced international cricket with immense enthusiasm, and there’s no better setting than Lord’s for a finale of this scale.”

ECB Chief Executive Richard Gould called the 2026 edition the most ambitious women’s cricket event ever hosted on British soil. Acknowledging the scale and stakes of the event, he conveyed optimism and a commitment to delivering an unforgettable tournament experience.

Gould emphasized that the event is about more than just scale — it’s about raising standards, delivering a top-tier experience for players and fans, and inspiring new generations to embrace women’s cricket.

“Our goal isn’t just to host a successful tournament — it’s to create a lasting legacy. We want to bring in new fans, including those who may be discovering the women’s game for the first time. This World Cup isn’t just a moment — it’s the start of something much bigger.”
